History

The Granary stores located in Sarasota, Florida have been in business for over twenty years. The original Granary located at 1930 Stickney Point Rd., was owned by Rick Tweed who sold the store to Al Gore and family in January 1998. The Gore's purchased the Stickney Point Rd. store along with one Mother Earth store in Sarasota and three other Mother Earth stores located in Gainesville and Ocala, Florida.

The Natural Retail Group purchased these existing stores from the Gore family in April 1998, and renamed the Mother Earth store located at 1279 Beneva Rd. S., "The Granary". To this day, NRG continues to operate both of "The Granary" locations as friendly neighborhood stores, fulfilling the natural and organic needs of the Sarasota community
